Potpourri post

1. The fruit in my fruit and yogurt parfait is frozen. I hate that.

2. I'm getting my cable modem back at home. They have a deal going that's too good to pass up. Goodbye suckass NetZero!! I'm very excited about this.

3. My sister is taking us out to dinner and to get manicures tonight. I'm also getting my eyebrows waxed which is very good because I have just been letting them grow all crazy lately since I knew I was going to get them waxed. It's starting to get out of control.

4. I finally finished the tissue packets last night. Which btw, I found out at the party are called 'Tears of Joy' packets. *gag* Martha Stewart should be thrown back in jail for coming up with those. Stupidest.Thing.Ever. Does my sister really think that everyone is going to be bawling their eyes out that much? We couldn't just have boxes of tissues? It was really necessary for me to fold paper into 50 little individual packets that only hold 2 tissues each? *rolls eyes*

5. I'm getting more nervous with each passing day. I can't wait for this wedding to be over. Only 2 more days.

High-5?

I go to pop a piece of gum in my mouth and I notice that on the front of the package it says 'not a low calorie food'. Curious, I turn it over to check out the nutrition information.

Serving size: 2 pieces
Calories: 5

*blink* Umm *blink blink* I turn it over again to make sure I read that right. Yup. Not a low calorie food. Ok doods, if you say so.

On a related note, Dentyne Tango is really yummy.

On an unrelated note, I'm really sleepy and I have an assload of things to do tonight. Anyone want to come and help me? Please? I'll give you a piece of gum, unless you're watching your weight of course.

The bachelorette party

was fun! It went much better than I expected, namely in that I was hardly annoyed by anyone at all! That's really saying something considering some of the people who were there.

We (mom and I) got to the hotel at about 3:15pm. The room was smaller than we thought it would be. It had a living area with a dining room table, couch and chair and a cramped little kitchen. Then there was the bathroom and 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed. My mom left at about 3:45 to go and pick up my sister and I started to set things up. Heather (the matron of honor) showed up at about 4. She got lost and I was on the phone with her for about 10 minutes trying to tell her where to go. She had gone to the wrong hotel. LOL. Then the masseuse showed up at about 4:30. Ack! I thought she wasn't coming until like 5:30! No one is even here yet! So, she set up her table and stuff and then said "Who's first?" Well, ummm, since I wasn't even sure if I wanted to get one- Heather went first. My mom and Amy finally showed up at about 5. We started drinking. My sister took 3 sips of the drink I made her and she was feeling tipsy. *rolls eyes* I called her a fucking lightweight. LOL. Heather came out of her massage and looked stoned, she was so relaxed and said it was better than sex. My mom went next and we ordered pizza. Heather and I went to pick it up while Amy started her massage. Jess showed up right before we left. Jess is really annoying, but she only got on my nerves like twice. I guess you need to drink to be able to stand her. Once we were done eating, Jess got her massage and then it was my turn. Everyone else had been raving about it, so I decided to spend the $20 I had to get a 20 minute massage. It was ok. I honestly didn't feel any different or more relaxed after it was over. I don't really like to be touched, especially by strangers. I guess it felt ok, but I'll probably never get one again. Tara (the other bridesmaid) showed up at some point during the evening, but I don't remember when.

The rest of the evening was spent drinking, doing make-up, playing games, more drinking, and talking. I won $30 playing a dice game. Yahoo! I felt guilty though and tried to split the money up with everyone since I hadn't been able to chip in, but no one would take it. We had bought a game called "Pin the bow tie on the bachelor" and that was pretty funny. We did it early in the evening and then again later after we were drunk. I don't remember who won.

Everyone started making moves to go to bed at about 2:30, but I wasn't tired and neither was my mom or Jess. So we stayed up while everyone else went to bed. We stayed up until 6:30. Tara woke up then, so I went and crashed in the bed for a few hours. I don't remember what we did for 4 hours while everyone else was asleep. I know we played a card game, but we didn't finish it. We smoked. I think I only had 3. Jess better not tell my sister- she would kick my ass.

I slept until about 10. Then I woke up and lazed around for a bit before starting to pack up and check out. Jess, Tara, and Heather had already left. Nice of them to leave us with the clean up, huh?

I think that's pretty much it. No strippers, no crazy hijinx, but it was a fun time. I wish it had lasted longer.

An Interview from Immunegirl

I know what you're thinking. These interview things are so last month, but I'm really lazy and a master procrastinator and I'm just now getting around to answering them. Sue me.

1.)Where do you eventually want to settle down and live?

I've thought about this a lot over the years. I don't want to stay in Ohio because I absolutely hate winter, but I also don't want to move someplace too warm because I hate heat too. I'm very difficult to please, temperature wise. Lately I've been thinking I would like to live in Seattle. It seems like a neat place and I don't mind rain. Of course, I would hate to move away from my Tater. It sucks enough only seeing him once a week, let alone being all the way across the country and only seeing him a couple times a YEAR.

2.)If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I don't really like to travel. I like to be in familiar surroundings, but I do have a few places that I have thought would be nice to visit.

New York, California (hopefully this one will come true next year), New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and England.

I would never go any place where people don't speak English. I get irritated when people are here and can't speak our language, so I wouldn't want to go to another country where I couldn't speak their language.

3.) Which TV character would you most like to be?

Any chick on Scrubs who gets to make out with Zach. :P

Or maybe Carrie on Sex and the City, but I would have to do something with some of those heinous outfits she wears... like incinerate them.

4.) If you could go back in time and change any one thing that you did, what would you change?

I wouldn't have told Jeff that I loved him. That's all I'll say for now. Maybe I'll tell the story one day...

5.) If you had a million dollars to donate to charity(s), where would you donate it?

Oh gosh. There are so many worthy charities. I guess I would have to give it to one dedicated to helping abused children. They can't defend themselves and they need someone to love them and take care of them.

Rules for those of you interested in further interviews...
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions of my choosing. (Note: It might take me 5 years, but I will come up with questions. I swear. No, really. I will.)
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions. If you don't have a blog, you can post your responses in my comments section.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post, following the same rules.

My car! My poor car!

I needed to get gas yesterday, so I bought a car wash as well. My car was filthy (on the outside, the inside is always practically spotless, tyvm). I had heard it was supposed to rain, so I checked out weather.com-- a 30% chance of rain it said. Hmm. That's not a real good chance. I looked at the radar-- just 1 tiny patch of green hovering over Cleveland. I looked at the sky--sunny and not a cloud in sight. I decided to go for it. Filled up and washed my car before I went to my eye appointment. *sigh* The road where the Lasik Plus office is was all torn up. Construction everywhere, and with construction comes dust and dirt. All over my car. I go to my eye appointment (eyes are great 1 year after my surgery. I now see 20/15 and before I was 20/600!! It's amazing!! ) The office has no windows. I had no idea what was going on outside. I leave the office, and it's POURING!!! Grrrr. I race out to my car and as soon as I'm safely inside (and absolutely drenched) it stops raining. *rolls eyes* So, I get on the highway and all the spray from other cars is flying at me. And of course if it was still raining, at least that would wash some of it away, but no such luck. I arrive home, after getting stuck in a traffic jam of course, and assess the damage. My car is filthy once again. Pfft. What a waste of $4. But wait! There's more! I go to leave for work this morning and what awaits me? 2 insanely huge piles of bird shit on my car. I shouldn't have parked under that tree. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

And? to add insult to injury, my sister called me last night and spent 10 minutes gushing over how great the bridal shower that her playgroup friends threw for her was. The food, the decoration, the gifts... great, great, GREAT! The theme was a cute little tea party (which btw was totally going to be our theme before we found out that they were doing that. Assholes.) and everything was just perfect and it was so much fun. Gee, why don't you just come right out and tell me that my shower was a big fat heaping pile of donkey shit? What-ever. Humph.

Dood... STFU!

Tonight I went out to Olive Garden with Tracy. I bought her dinner as an extremely belated birthday present. Her birthday is on Leap Day, so technically she didn't have a birthday this year, but anyhow, at the time I didn't have any money to buy her a gift or anything. I don't really have the money now, but we hadn't hung out in quite a while and I was in the mood. It was a very nice dinner. We both had fettucine alfredo. It was nummy. We had drinks- they were nummy too. Champagne, pineapple juice and grenadine. I'm going to have to make those at home sometime. Or maybe for the Bachelorette party. Anyhow, this waiter (not ours) was such a freak. He was one of those chatty-chatty types who talks to you even though you are so not interested in what he has to say. During the course of our meal, he waited on 3 tables around us. Somehow, with all 3 tables, he managed to bring up the fact that his sister worked at National City Bank. It was amazing. Every time he would start rambling I would LMAO. And then I would hear NCB and I almost lost it. Did he have like a script or something? It was hilarious. Tracy came back to my apartment and we had a few more drinks and talked about the ridiculousness that is my sister's wedding.

On an unrelated note, I broke down and bought another pack of cigarettes. I am usually only a weekend smoker/drinker, but tonight I was bad. I just dropped the cigarette and narrowly escaped another cigarette burn on my pajama pants. They already have 1 burn. These pants make me drop cigarettes. I either need to stop wearing these pants, or stop smoking.

I need to go to bed now. I am going to be kicking myself in the morning for staying up this late.

I love my friends

They are wonderful. They pick me up when I am down. And sometimes, someone who you thought wasn't one of your 'close' friends can come along and just make you feel better about yourself and that you are ok. Thank you all for your comments. I am going to try and think of this blog as some place just for me, and if people see fit to read and comment on it- all the better. I need to stop worrying about what other people think of me so much. I need to be ok with me. It won't be easy, and I may fail 100 times, but that's ok. My friends will be there to pick me up.

Damn I'm sappy and deep when I'm drunk. *grin*

This blog sucks

Everyone seems to be linking to everyone else's blog these days. A lot of people are linking them at OT. I took a little blog tour today, reading various blogs (I'm really nosy) and I came to the realization that my blog sucks. It's boring, and I never have anything important to say, which might be ok if I at least said some funny stuff. But I don't. I do like the new name I made up for my blog though. At least I've got that going for me.

So, where do I go from here? Do I start sharing more personal things and really open up? (warning: that would lead to a whole lot of whining and self torture) Do I only post silly or interesting things? (which is originally what I thought this blog would be, but that didn't seem to work out) or should I just give up on this blog thing completely? Or can I learn to live with the fact that my blog sucks?

Am I just in a piss poor mood and tomorrow I will think that my blog is witty and interesting?

Oldies, but goodies

So, on Saturday I was in a reflective type mood and I decided that I wanted to listen to some of my older cd's. Some of them I haven't listened to in like 8 years and I used to listen to them everyday. Anyway, today I was listening to Reel Big Fish (a ska band). I had forgotten how much I love them.

[Casey Kasem voice] This one goes out to a special fellow. His name begins with an R and ends with an udyRules. Here ya go, big guy...

Reel Big Fish - You Don't Know

Well first of all, I'd like to say FUCK OFF
If you don't get it why don't you go shove your head back up your ass
And don't waste my time
I don't need your opinion

(Chorus)
'Cause you don't know what it's like
You don't know what it's like
You don't know what it's like to be like me
You don't know, so keep your mouth shut!

Now this may come as kind of a surprise
I don't like you and I don't care what you think about what I do
But most of all, I don't need your opinion

(repeat chorus)

Well finally, that's the way it is
I like something you don't
And you're telling me its shit
Well it's a waste of time
We can't change our opinions

I don't know what it's like
I don't know what it's like
I don't know what it's like to be like you
I don't know, so I keep my mouth shut!

I heard this song, and he was the first person I thought of. :) And here's another RBF gem that was cracking me up on the way home. I'm not gonna type the whole song out, but it's about a break-up. I think you'll get the gist of the song from the chorus:

Everything is cool
How are things with you?
Everything is cool
I wish you were dead!

Ha! You really have to hear the songs to appreciate them. Peppy, happy ska music with lyrics like this and other song titles such as "Somebody Hates Me" "I Want Your Girlfriend To Be My Girlfriend Too" and "Scott's A Dork". That's just off their 2nd cd. I can't wait to see what other gems I have forgotten about on their 1st one! I love it! *grin*
