I got my hair cut last night. Am I the only adult woman that goes to Great Clips? LOL. I always laugh at myself because every time I go there, it is full of kids and men getting their hair cut. I don't think I've ever seen another woman getting her hair cut there. But I'm ok with that. I like their prices. (Only $6 last night because of their sale! Whoo!) I can't imagine paying $40 for a simple hair cut. A couple inches off the length and some layers. That is my style, nothing fancy. I am not real picky about my hair. I don't style it, other than blow drying it straight every morning, and I don't use any products. I think I have used hairspray maybe twice in my life. Same for a curling iron- I don't even own one. Anyway, she cut it a little shorter than I wanted, but I'm fine with it. It grows. In a couple weeks or so it will be perfect. My mom thinks it looks cute this short, but I'm not sure. *shrug*
One of my back molars has been hurting, so I called up for a dentist appointment today. I got it all set up for Tuesday, and then the girl called me back and said that I was not on their insurance list. Pfffft! I've been there before with no problem! I have the insurance that they accept there, but I'm not on their list, so she had to cancel my appointment. I have to call my insurance and get my primary dentist changed, and then hopefully I will be put on their list, but that probably won't be until mid-May. *pout* My toof hurts! Wahhhhh!

Hockey Monkey
This song makes me giggle. It's so stupid, but I love it. I wish I could be all fancy and put a little media player in this post, but I have no clue how to do that. I think if you click this link it will open up a Windows Media Player so you can hear it. The song is less than 2 minutes long. If that link doesn't work, you can read the lyrics. I hope you get a laugh out of it, too. :)
In other news, less than 2 months remain until my San Fran trip. Ack! It's coming up fast. I need a whole new wardrobe. Anyone want to nominate me for "What Not to Wear"? *grin*

Weird Things Meme
Tagged by Weltek. :)
Here are the rules-
1. Reveal six weird facts/things/habits about yourself and then tag six people
2. Leave a "You're Tagged!" comment to let the people you have tagged know they have to reveal six things (or the entire blogosphere will explode and it will be their fault)
3. Leave a comment HERE to let me know when you have completed your mission
My 6 things:
1. Even if I'm completely alone, I still say "Excuse me" when I burp.
2. I have a scar on my eyebrow from when my body rejected my eyebrow piercing. They used too big of a gauge and my poor lil eyebrow couldn't take it.
3. I have kissed more women than men. Which is only weird because I'm not a lesbian.
4. I hate having hairy things touch my bare legs. If a cat or dog rubs up against my bare leg, I *shudder*.
5. I crack my wrists. In addtion to my fingers, toes and neck. I don't know if this is weird or not, but there you go.
6. I like to listen to music and sing to myself in the mirror.

Hypothetical question
Well, not hypothetical to me, since it happened to me last night, but I'm wondering what you all would think.
So imagine you're a 25 year old woman, living alone in an apartment building. You're coming home from Easter at mom's. You step into the elevator with a guy, maybe around your age, but it's hard to tell. You're both going to the same floor. He starts chatting with you. "How was your Easter? Your family live near here?" Then he gets a little more personal "What do you do? Where do you work? Do you like it? Do you live here with your family?" You continue to chat with him. Well, chat isn't really the word I guess, since he's basically asking 20 questions and you're just answering them without going into much detail. So now, you're out of the elevator and walking down the hall. He says "Where do you live?" You *blink blink* at him.
"Um. I live here."
"No, I mean which apartment?"
"Oh. Uh. Right there." *gestures vaguely down the hall*
"Oh. Nice and close." (Huh?)
So, he reaches his door and he's unlocking it, yet still talking to you as you continue on down the hall.
"What's your name, btw?"
"Jen."
"Nice to meet you, Jen. I'm Greg."
At this point I've reached my door. It's only 1 door down from him. I didn't really want him to know which apartment was mine, but I also wanted to get inside ASAP.
"Nice to meet you, too."
"Have a good day!"
"Yeah, you too." *scurries inside apartment*
The first thought that crossed my mind when I was inside was "Oh, great. Now this guy knows where I live and that I live here alone. I bet he's going to kill me."
So, did I overreact? Am I just a complete anti-social spazcase for thinking that just because some guy talked to me, and asked A LOT of questions, that he is plotting my demise? Or did I have reason to be a little creeped out? I mean, he wasn't threatening in any way. He seemed nice, just very inquisitive.
What would you think if you were me?

Mmm... cheesecake
I'm going to The Cheesecake Factory for the first time on Sunday. I'm very excited. I hear you all talking about it and I've always wanted to go, but there was not one in my area until recently. So, what's good there? What do you usually order? I've always wanted to try chocolate cheesecake, what's the best kind? (I don't really like dark chocolate or white chocolate.)
Yay! I think I'll fast until then so I can really pig out. *grin*
We also might be going to a movie. Has anyone seen Failure to Launch? Opinions? Or any other movies out in theaters that you would recommend?

My fridge *snort*
I told you I haven't been to the grocery in a looooong time. *grin*
(I took this on my camera phone, so the quality probably isn't the best.)

I can name everything in there. It won't take long.
Top shelf:
- Brita water thing
- jug of maple syrup (it was for some weird diet I did, I should throw it out)
- Mango margarita mix (it is blucky, I should throw that out, too)
- sweet & sour mix (really old, I should throw it out. Sensing a pattern?)
- Black cherry vodka (I should drink it, but I don't have any mixers. Heh.)
Middle shelf:
- Various jars of old stuff, mostly spaghetti sauce, most needs to be thrown out. It's really hard to cook for one person. I waste a lot. *slaps self on hand* Bad me.
- Eggs. I think they're expired.
Bottom shelf:
- Nothing.
In drawers (not pictured):
- 1 orange
- Bag of baby carrots
- Baking potatoes (old, they probably have eyes)
- Flour tortillas
- Shredded cheddar cheese
Here's the door of the fridge, not much going on here either. All of those salad dressings are probably expired. *sigh*

Who wants to come over for dinner? We can have cheese quesadillas and vodka! Yum! LMAO

Random Musings
I went out to grab some lunch from Wendy's today. While I was sitting in line at the drive-thru, a lady 2 cars in front of me started emptying her ashtray out her car window. Umm, couldn't she have waited to do that in a garbage can instead of littering all over the Wendy's parking lot? Then, she proceeds to open her car door and spit onto the pavement. Several times. I don't want to be seeing this, but I can't take my eyes away. She closes her door, and then spits once more out the window for good measure. Classy broad, eh?
I painted my fingernails yesterday. I don't know why. I hate having my fingernails painted (toenails are a different story, I love to throw all kinds of funky colors on my toenails). The polish always seems to make my already short fingers appear even stubbier. Plus, my nails are getting to the point where they make typing more difficult, usually I just cut them all off when it gets like that. But yesterday I decided to paint them instead of cutting them. So now I have short, stubby fingers and I can't type. *shrug* I don't know why I do the things I do sometimes.
My mom's birthday is this Friday, and my sister's is next Thursday. I hate having their birthdays so close together. Takes a toll on the ole cash flow. I kind of know what I'm getting them both. The only idea my mom gave me is a wallet. A bifold wallet with a change purse in the center with a clasp, not a zipper. Ok, thanks for being specific, I just hope I can find one like that. My sister gave me a few ideas for herself:
1. A house. Yeah. Don't think I'll be able to swing that one.
2. Stuff for a house. Like what? she doesn't know. Ok, gift card it is.
3. Anti-wrinkle creams. She says her wrinkles are out of control. I say she's just spazzing about turning 30. *rolls eyes*
4. Candles. I can do that.
So, I'll either be getting her a gift card from Target or some candles. Or both. We are also going to throw a little party for her, probably at Dave & Buster's. Yay! I love that place. I don't love her friends though. They are all so annoying. Good thing they have a bar at D&B. *grin* (Ack! I just looked at their drink menu. They all sound soooo good! How am I going to choose?!)
I think I'll buy dinner for my mom too (we're probably going out to eat for Easter) because I feel guilty spending more money on my sister than my mom. I know it shouldn't be about money, but that's the way I think unfortunately. Oh, and I'm also burning her a copy of 2 of my Coldplay cd's. She got a new car with a 6 disc changer, but she doesn't even have 6 cd's! She doesn't know who she would like, but she likes Coldplay's first cd that I gave her long ago, so I figure she will like these also. Should I burn her some KoRn, too? I'm sure she would like them. LMAO.
It's very nice outside today. Sun is shining, and I opened my sunroof for the first time this year. It is supposed to be like 70 degrees tomorrow. I don't want summer to come though. I hate the hot and humid weather. I wish it would always be fall.
My nephew called me yesterday and left a message on my machine. "Hi Aunt Jen. Call us back. Love you. Bye." It was cute because there were these long pauses in between sentences and I knew my sister was telling him what to say. :) He's so fricking adorable. It's hard to talk to him on the phone though. He will just ramble on and I usually have no idea what he is saying. I just love hearing his cute little voice though. Love.that.kid.
I burned my tongue on a grilled cheese sammich yesterday. It is annoying me. (My tongue, not the sammich.)
We have Friday off of work. Yipee!

Welcome to Oh.My.Blog!
Hello to any newcomers! I know you've all been waiting with baited breath for the day that I would share my blog. *grin*
As you can see by the archives, I've had this blog for over a year now and have gone through various stages of keeping it totally private, sharing it with just a few, and sharing it with several. I'm not sure why I've kept it semi-private, really. I don't usually have anything important or earth shattering to say. I guess I'm just shy and wasn't comfortable with "strangers" reading my thoughts. But maybe that's something I need to overcome. Because I don't really think of any of you as "strangers" necessarily. Strange? Absolutely. But not strangers. :)
Anyway, I'm jumping in, joining the fun. I know there are so many other blogs and it's hard to keep up with them all, so I will understand if no one visits mine. :) I'm not a super updater, but I'm trying to work on that, too. So if you like reading my thoughts, I invite you to come back sometime and say hi.

Bye-bye, house
The house deal is no longer. :(
My sister was telling some of her friends about the house and they all kept saying that that area was really prone to flooding. One bitch even told her that they call the kids who live in that area "swamp rats". WTF?! So it came time for the home inspection and they found out that the downstairs living room showed some flood damage. The seller was not being up front with them. He finally fessed up to the fact that at one time the house had flooded and there had been about 7 inches of water downstairs. He says it was all taken care of properly, walls repaired and new carpet, but he wouldn't provide any information about who had done the work so that my sister could check into it. She said she wasn't comfortable with the house anymore, knowing that it was at risk for floods, and she also started wondering what else the seller might not have been up front about. So they backed out. I was pretty bummed, I loved that house. But I kept saying "it's too good to be true" and turns out I was right.
All this talk about houses has made me want to move. Not really, but I like thinking of getting a new place. They just raised my rent again, only $10 though, and its still cheaper than anything else comprable to the size and location. Maybe next May when my lease is up. I would love, love, love to get a place with a washer/dryer in suite. And some place where it's not such a hassle to unload groceries. And maybe another bedroom to use as my computer room. Those are my dreams. But I like my place. It'll do for now.
