This 'n' That

* I'm sick of winter already. We've had snow like 4 days out of the past 7. I don't like cleaning off my car. I don't like my feet always being cold. I don't like ice; either for walking on or driving on. I don't like it being pitch black when I leave work at 5:30. I don't mind the cold so much, I just don't want the snow. Make it go away! It's too early for this shizz. *sigh* Such a depressing time of year.

* Related to above, I need some boots. I've been saying that I'm going to get some winter boots for like 5 years now, but I hate shopping so much that I never get them. I also need some warmer clothes. Looks like it's time for the 2nd of my bi-annual shopping trips. Blah.

* Also related to above, I'm wearing slippers at work today. Once I walk through snow, my feet never warm up. I have a heater under my desk, but even that doesn't help. So today I decided to wear my Happy Bunny slippers that Glow bought for me. My feet are nice and toasty.

* Our new office building is finally being built. We've been in this "temporary" office for almost exactly a year now. I'm excited to see the new place once it's all done. It's amazing how fast they get stuff done. Well, sometimes. It took weeks and weeks of moving dirt and leveling the ground. Seemed like they did the same thing every day. Move dirt, level it out. Make new piles, level them out. Drive back and forth endlessly. But once that was done, they put up all the framework in like a week. Now there's a roof and they've started putting up that white board stuff. I don't know what it is. But it's fun watching it all come together. I don't envy those poor men working out in the cold though. That's gotta suck a big one. :(

* Do any of you play computer games? I've been doing that a lot lately. I even bought one, which I said I would never do. $20 seemed way to much to spend on a game download, but I found a site that was having a 50% off sale so I bought Cake Mania 3. I looooove Cake Mania. It's highly addicting. I seem to really love games in the restaurant industry, because I also got hooked on playing a game called Delicious, which is basically the same thing. You have customers who order food (or cakes) and you have to make it and then deliver it to them and collect their money. I don't know why, but it's extremely fun.

* Pushing Daisies is on tonight, and if you don't already watch it, I'm begging you to do so tonight. I love this show so much. It's by far one of the most original and creative shows in a long time and it's in danger of being canceled. *sob* Not only will I miss the show terribly, but I can't imagine not having Lee Pace on my tv every week. I've always had a crush on him (and his character Ned) but ever since I heard that the show might be cut short, I've been obsessing over him. He's so amazing. *sigh*

And he makes one damn fine woman.

Ever see the movie Soldier's Girl? If not, I demand that you rent it. (Warning: tragic love story that will make you cry with anger and sadness.) Anyway, I had seen this movie years ago and I remember being shocked when I learned that the role of Calpernia Adams, a transgendered woman, was not really played by a transsexual. It was played by a man named Lee Pace. At the time, Soldier's Girl had been his only major role, so I didn't know who he was and I never thought about it again. Until I was reading some articles about him recently and it mentioned this role. What?! I didn't even realize it was Lee. He was so brilliant in that role, it just shocks me that I never put 2 and 2 together. So of course I had to rent it again, and wow. It's absolutely amazing. Rent it. And watch Pushing Daisies! Tonight! PLEAAAAAAASE!!

Oh, and if it's not too much trouble, could you also sign this petition? It only takes a second. Thank you! *smooches* http://www.petitiononline.com/daisies/petition.html

Blast from the past

Any of you remember the FedEx guy that I used to luuuuuuurve? From searching my blog, it seems it was about 2-3 years ago that I was always talking about him. He stopped delivering at our old office a long time ago, but I still think of him every time we get a delivery. Well... who should walk into our new office today with a delivery????!!!!! *grin* Yeah, he's still cute as ever. I can't stop smiling.

And! he remembered me! Or he remembered the company name. Or he recognized my mom. Heh. He asked when we had moved, so he obviously remembered something about us. I'm choosing to believe it was me. *snort*

If anyone needs me, I'll be over here being a dork.

I've used "Randomness" as a title too many times

-- I'm anxious to hear how things go today at my sister's doctor's appointment. It won't be too much longer until my new nephew is here. Right now, he is breech (breach?) and Amy is freaking out about having to possibly have a c-section. But if he can get turned around, the dr. will probably take her off of bed rest and things will happen soon after.

They still don't have a name picked out. It feels kind of weird, even to me. Tate was named very early on in her pregnancy with him, and it just felt like we already knew him. This new baby feels like a stranger. Plus, it's just not as exciting with a second born, and I feel bad about that. I haven't even bought anything for him yet! Bad Aunt Jen. *hangs head*

-- It's no secret that I am a lazy fat ass. I do not exercise. I sit behind a desk all day and I sit on my couch all night. I live on the 5th floor in my apartment building and I only take the stairs when the elevator is broken and I absolutely must. I dread the stairs. I usually have to stop and catch my breath at least twice, and once I make it almost to the top I feel like I might not be able to make it those last few steps.
Last night, these assholes were using both of the elevators to move in, so no one else was able to use them. I was so pissed off (not only because I had to take the stairs, but because it was sofa king rude.) With fear in my heart, I started up the stairs.
*huff* *puff* *gasp* Ok, here I am at the 3rd floor, and I don't feel too bad yet. This is usually where I start to feel weak in the legs. But wait! I'm not on the 3rd floor- the door says 4! How did I miss that? I'm only one floor away and I haven't stopped at all... and I don't need to. Woohoo! I just climbed up the stairs without feeling like I was going to die. Sure, I was still panting like a dog on a hot day, and I thought my heart might pound out of my chest, but I did it. I wonder if it was just because of my adrenaline and being pissed at the guys. Oh well. I'll take it. It's a small accomplishment, but an accomplishment nonetheless. Maybe I'll start taking the stairs a couple times a week... or maybe not. *snort*

-- I'm soooooo excited for the first performance show of So You Think You Can Dance tomorrow night. I freaking love this show. If any of you don't watch, I highly recommend it. And if you do watch, please come and play on the SYTYCD forum. Those two newbies who seem to annoy everyone (*coughjbugagmancough*) have found their way over there, and I could really use some more people that I enjoy. I don't want the show and discussions to be ruined because of them. *sigh* So come and play with me!! And there's bonus eye candy for watching!

My early fav, Kameron.

Quite possibly could edge Kameron out, Neil.

All the gay boys on the forum are swooning over Pasha. And a lot of the girls, too. :)

For the menfolk and lesbians. Lauren, Ashlee and my girl crush, Jessi (though this pic of her is a little scary.)

-- It's taken me all damn morning to write this post. Stoopit wurk.

Random MeMe

Carey tagged me for the randomness, so here are 8 random facts about the concert I went to last night. :)

1. I was pissed because Breaking Benjamin had been billed as the headliner in everthing I'd seen about this concert, but they ended up playing second to last. *pout*

2. Ben, the lead singer of BB is really hot. I wish we could've gotten closer to the stage, but it was too crowded up there.

3. Glow's boyfriend Adammm (lead singer of Three Days Grace, the actual headliner. hrmph.) looked pretty gross. He had long stringy hair and was wearing some funky hat. At one point I was watching the tv screens they have by the side of the stage and I said "Whoa! When did Adammm get so hot? Who knew taking off a hat and jacket could do that!?" ... And then I realized that it wasn't Adammm at all. Ben had come back out to sing one of their songs with them. LMAO. Yay for more Ben!

4. BB didn't play the one song I wanted to hear most, but they played my second favorite. 3DG played the one I wanted to hear. Yay for that.

5. Both bands did covers, and I didn't really care for them. BB covered "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails. 3DG covered "Another Day in Paradise" by Phil Collins. They were both good, but I'd rather hear the bands own music instead of covers.

6. It's insane how expensive drinks are at concerts. $7 fucking dollars for a bottle of beer. $8 for a vodka lemonade. Assholes.

7. I love going to concerts not only for the music, but because there are always plenty of hot guys around. *grin*

8. It took us 40 minutes to get from the parking lot to the highway after the show. Traffic sucks.

I tag... YOU!
